Lawrence Troy, of Mansfield, and Jonathan Seward, of Sheffield, both won the seven-figure prizes playing the “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” $20 scratch-off game. Seward was the first to claim his prize, and Troy followed with his winning ticket 25 minutes later.
Seward said he was enjoying a glass of wine in front of his fireplace after paying some bills when he scratched his winning ticket. He is self-employed, and Seward plans to invest his windfall into his business.
Troy said he doesn't have any immediate plans for his jackpot.
Both men chose to take the lump-sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity.
Seward bought his ticket at Silk’s Variety at 107 Main St. in Sheffield. Troy copped his at 7-Eleven at 70 Copeland Drive in Mansfield. Each store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sales.
A $1 million and a $5 million ticket for the “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” game have not been found.
